CUT OFF CRAWDADS AT HUNTINGTON HERMIT CRABS

Fans who gathered at The Shell saw a good contest between the Huntington Hermit Crabs and Cut Off Crawdads.

Huntington starter Steve Baker pitched effectively against the Cut Off Crawdads at The Shell. The left-hander led his team to a 4-2 win. The winning pitcher was Baker, now 8-3. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 13. The save went to Greg Ayala, his 2nd this season.

The Hermit Crabs got a big at-bat from shortstop Joe Johnson. For the game, Johnson was 1-3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 5th double of the season gave Huntington a 2-0 lead.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Cut Off skipper Pancho Salaedo, "and it cost us."

Huntington now has a 3-game win streak.
