Jets Stadium was the site of a competitive game between the Kennesaw Jets and Smoky Mountain Hobeaus.
The Smoky Mountain Hobeaus picked up a win at Jets Stadium, knocking off the Kennesaw Jets, 3-2. Starting pitcher Félix Torres, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Stu Sutherland got the save, the 2nd for him this season.
It could have been a different outcome for Smoky Mountain, had it not been for Charles Stevenson, the 21-year old shortstop . Stevenson contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth inning to put Smoky Mountain up, 3-2.
"We'll savor this win," Stevenson told the Smoky Mountain Herald, "then get ready for the next game."
Smoky Mountain is last in the Silver A with a record of 25-36.
