Generals Come Back Late to Clip Hobeaus
|
Washington turned a good effort from starter Richard Nudelman into a win over the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus at Smokies Stadium. The final score was 6-2. Nudelman got the win, improving to 4-5. He allowed 6 hits and walked 1 over 7.1 innings. Nudelman allowed 2 earned runs. Washington is now 26-34, Smoky Mountain 24-36.
Washington used the timely hitting of Asko Huhtamo to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Generals ahead, 5-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"Like I've always said, I'm the straw that stirs the drink," Nudelman said (again).
