Hawks Stun Jets, 2-1
|
The Hawks had to overcome a fine effort from Kennesaw pitcher Myles Winters to grab a narrow 2-1 win at Hawks Field. Winters went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The winner was Hahn Hartwig in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Manuel Silva took the loss. At 25-31, the Hawks find themselves in 8th place in the Silver A.
Elwiin de Meij was the walk-off hero for Laredo. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Hawks pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This place was rocking at the end," de Meij said.
