Torch Continue Skid Thanks to King, Bulls
|
The Belleville Bulls topped the Mancelona Torch, 5-3, with third baseman Russ King playing a big role. King went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Bulls in the win. Mancelona is in the throes of a 9-game losing streak.
King had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-2 fastball from Al Maxwell, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Bulls a 5-3 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for King.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said King.
