Hawks Top Generals, 5-3
|
With left fielder Dan Parker leading the charge, the Laredo Hawks defeated the Washington Generals, 5-3, at Hawks Field. Parker was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. De'Coldest Crawford recorded the save for Laredo, his 7th of the season. Laredo now sits at 15-20, while Washington falls to 15-20.
Germantown, Maryland-born Steve Turner came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd and the Hawks trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run double to right-center to put Laredo on top.
"We played hard and won," said Parker. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
