Averett Dazzles in Huntington Win
|
In a low-scoring game between the Huntington Hermit Crabs and the Belleville Bulls, pitcher William Averett was masterful on the mound. The Huntington right-hander was named the player of the game in Huntington's 3-0 win. Huntington is now 18-16.
Averett allowed no runs over 7.1 innings. He also racked up 9 strikeouts.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Huntington manager Rafael Herrera said.
