Dominant Performance by Cruz in Kent Win
|
The Kent Comets defeated the Mancelona Torch, 2-0, in USSL Single A action at Fuller Park, with Kent pitcher José Cruz named player of the game. Earning his 15th save for Kent was Kenny McFadden. Mancelona now has a 6-game losing streak.
Cruz, a native of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, was dealing all game. He kept Mancelona hitters off-balance, while giving the Comets 5.1 quality innings. Cruz threw 92 pitches, allowing 1 hit and striking out 12.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Cruz said after the game.
