Comets Subdue Washington, 2-0
|
The Comets faced a stiff challenge from Washington pitcher Richard Nudelman, but persevered to claim a win at Fuller Park. The final score was 2-0. Nudelman went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. The save went to Kenny McFadden, his 13th this season. The Comets improved to a lofty 20-8.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the ninth inning, but Kenny McFadden didn't flinch. With the bases loaded and Washington trailing 2-0, McFadden retired Irwin Taylor to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said McFadden, with a wink.
