Wrightson Excels, But Yinzers Win
|
Cut Off second baseman Maurice Wrightson had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Wrightson hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice, even as Monroeville beat the Crawdads, 6-4. Wrightson was named the player of the game despite the loss. Earning his 6th save of the year was Sidd Finch. Monroeville is 4th in the Silver A with a record of 12-10.
Dave Hall drove in one run against the Crawdads. In the bottom of the first inning, he reached on an error by the 1B, driving in 1 run, putting Monroeville in front, 1-0.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Monroeville manager Ricardo Sánchez.
