Hot Start Continues for Bulls
|
Belleville starter Anthony Dixon had a strong outing against the Washington Generals at Washington Park. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 5-2 win. In 6 innings, Dixon surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 4. He allowed 1 run. The save went to François L'Écuyer, his 4th this season.
Belleville used a timely hit from Steve Burnett to get the win. The center fielder delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the second inning to put the Bulls on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Belleville manager Edward Whipp. "It's usually not just one thing."
Belleville, now 7-2, is setting the league on fire so far.
