Flores Excels in Monroeville Win
|
The exploits of first baseman Martín Flores helped the Monroeville Yinzers defeat the Mancelona Torch, 6-2. Flores went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. The win pushes Monroeville to a record of 3-5.
Monroeville grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Flores hit a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Yinzers out in front, 4-1.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Flores. "And not try to do too much."
