Expos Win at Columbia, 5-2
|
Dave Johns was instrumental in his team's 5-2 triumph over the Columbia River Rats. The first baseman went 2-3 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 5 runs for the Niagara Falls Expos. Cameron Shipp earned the win to go to 6-2. He allowed 2 earned runs on 2 hits, with 3 walks and 7 strikeouts. Niagara Falls's record now stands at 44-46, placing them 6th in the Menard's A.
Niagara Falls grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Johns, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2042 draft, hit a bases-clearing double. His 20th double of the season put the Expos out in front, 5-2.
Johns told a Niagara Falls News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
