The Charleston Battery faced a tough opponent in Boston pitcher Nicky Bogdan, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Dunkin Donuts Park by a final score of 3-2. Bogdan went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Ton Jobse was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts. The 8th-place Battery now have a win-loss record of 47-59.

Charleston used the timely hitting of Datu Lesaca to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Battery on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Lesaca told the Charleston Daily News.
