Yellows Win at Niagara Falls, 4-1
|
The Yellows had to overcome a good performance from Niagara Falls pitcher Roy Duyan to claim a 4-1 win at Waterfall Park. Duyan went 5 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Yucca Valley reliever Rick Baker got the win, raising his record to 3-1. Wu-shun Feng was tagged with the loss. The win puts the Yellows at 47-32, while the Expos drop to 39-40.
Yucca Valley took a 4-1 lead on Keaton Sturge's 10th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Niagara Falls pitcher Ricardo Corona in the top of the eighth.
In comments to the Yucca Valley Observer, Sturge admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
