Yucca Valley starter George Crane pitched effectively against the Idaho Falls Chukars at Ballpark of Yucca Valley. The right-hander led his team to a 6-3 win. Danny Kas sewed up the save, his 6th. The Yellows saw their win-loss record go to 44-29. At the same time, the Chukars fell to 28-45.

Cecil Hanson put Yucca Valley in front, 4-3, when he took Everett Pratt downtown. His 2-run home run came with no one out in the bottom of the fifth. It was his 12th home run of the season.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Crane told the Yucca Valley Observer.
