Mangos Raise Rally Flag, Beat Alameda, 3-1
|
The Mangos grabbed a win, 3-1, at Mango Yard, overcoming a fine effort from Alameda pitcher Kjeld Burger. Burger went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Kingston reliever Jayson McMasters picked up the win, bumping his record to 4-1. Bill Zimmerman was collared with the loss. The Mangos bumped their record to 34-34 with this latest triumph.
Al Custello was the walk-off hero for Kingston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mangos third baseman hit a dramatic 2-run home run to send the teams home.
"Put a star next to this win," Custello said.
