BC Prevail, 3-1, Over Columbia
|
Fans who gathered at Columbia Stadium saw a good contest between the Put-In-Bay BC and Columbia River Rats.
The Put-In-Bay BC got a good effort from starter Gonzalo Garibay in defeating the Columbia River Rats at Columbia Stadium. The final score was 3-1. Garibay got the win, improving to 6-3. He allowed 7 hits and walked 0 over 7 innings. Garibay allowed no earned runs.
Put-In-Bay needed the clutch hitting of Bud Mullins to notch the win. The right fielder hammered a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the BC on top, 1-0. For the game, Mullins had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
Afterward, BC manager Rick Bell was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
The BC own a robust 45-23 mark.
