Victory Pushes Yellows Record to 41-27
Pitcher Steve Walden was sensational for the Yucca Valley Yellows in his team's 3-1 triumph over the Syracuse Storm. Walden received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Graviel Azevedo earned the save for Yucca Valley, his 12th of the year. Yucca Valley is 4th in the Menard's A with a record of 41-27.

The Storm had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Yellows going into the top of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 18-year old second baseman Okakura Samurakami came to the plate. Samurakami hit a run-scoring single on a first pitch fastball from Syracuse hurler Adrian Madrid. It was Samurakami's 57th hit of the year.

"This is a very good team," said Walden. "We have the chance to do something special."
