Storm Come Up Short at Idaho Falls
The Idaho Falls Chukars topped the Syracuse Storm, 6-5, with youngster Taroemon Nishii playing a key role. Nishii went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs for the Chukars in the win. Idaho Falls reliever Jason Walker picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jeffrey Eckert shouldered the loss. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Idaho Falls.

Had Kien Thum not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Thum hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Chukars.

"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Thum told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
