Cattlemen Sneak Past Battery, 5-4
|
The Ft. Worth Cattlemen picked up a win at Charleston Armory, knocking off the Charleston Battery, 5-4. Starting pitcher Gustavo Tobías was an essential part of his team's success. Jack Buyse got the save, his 13th in 17 chances. The Cattlemen go to 36-66, putting them 9th in the Premier League.
Caspar Fewings's hit in the top of the tenth was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a sinker from Baker Mayfield for a run-scoring single. It put Ft. Worth in front, 5-4.
"To not win that game stings a little bit," said Charleston manager Matt Hunt.
