Westwood used a superb performance from starting pitcher Joop Els to down the Providence Pilgrims, 2-1. Westwood is now 25-37.

The Pilgrims had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Sixshooters going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 28-year old shortstop Slavik Akentiev came to the plate. Akentiev hit a run-scoring single on a first pitch curveball from Providence hurler Jacob Sinclair. It was Akentiev's 44th hit of the year.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Akentiev said.
