Fighting Imps Shut Out Ogres

Ithaca starter Jorge Torres had a strong outing against the Olympia Ogres at The Ogre Den. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 2-0 win. Damarco Lyons picked up the save for Ithaca, his 4th of the year. The Fighting Imps raised their record to 23-37.
Ithaca used the timely hitting of Pedro Gonzáles to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put the Fighting Imps on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Gonzáles told a Ithaca Herald reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
