Northern Virginia right-hander Ricardo García made an effective start against the Long Island Lighthouse at The Lighthouse, leading his team to a 3-2 win. García got the win, improving to 7-7. Northern Virginia used the timely hitting of Gerrie Bond to capture the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rainbow Mermaids on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.

"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said García.
