Eclipse Come Up Short at Providence
|
Providence starter Donald Nexport pitched effectively against the Northville Eclipse at Field of Plenty. The right-hander led his team to a 4-3 win. Nexport, now 3-5, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 4, and allowing 1 earned run. Providence is now 28-28.
An-yi Zhou, who is tied for 3rd in the PAA in triples with 3, chipped in for Providence with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Zhou told the Providence News.
