Storm Get One-Run Win at Yucca Valley
|
Yucca Valley pitcher Jason Cormack gave the Storm all they could handle, but in the end, Syracuse left Ballpark of Yucca Valley with a 1-0 win. Cormack allowed 1 earned run on 2 hits over 6.1 innings. Syracuse starter Adrian Madrid was credited with the win after throwing 104 pitches over 6.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-1. Dave Miller earned the save, his 4th.
Syracuse center fielder Jacob James contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the third. With two down, he hit a cutter into left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 30th hit of the season and put the Storm ahead, 1-0.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Yucca Valley skipper Christian O'Dell, "and it cost us."
The Storm sit in 8th place in the Menard's A with a record of 16-22.
