Providence left fielder Kent Luper had a good game, even if his team did not. The Pilgrims dropped a 4-3 decision to Ithaca at Field of Plenty. Luper went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Ithaca reliever Jesús Solís picked up the win to move to 1-3. Jing-sheng Bian suffered the loss. Damarco Lyons picked up the save for Ithaca, his 2nd of the year.

Ithaca used the bat of Claude Long to capture the win. The pinch hitter jacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Fighting Imps ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a dandy.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Long told the Ithaca Herald.

The Fighting Imps go to 20-27, putting them 9th in the Premier AA.
