Despite a great performance by Charleston third baseman Melvin Thomas, the Hollywood Shredders defeated the Battery by the score of 6-5 at The Hollywood Bowl. Thomas went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs. Hollywood reliever Lloyd Natoff picked up the win, upping his record to 4-5. Sicnarf Loopstok shouldered the loss. Binjimen Victor finished to wrap up his 25th save.

Hollywood took a 6-5 lead on Ramón Rodríguez's 33rd hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Rodríguez hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Charleston pitcher Baker Mayfield shaking his head.

"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Rodríguez told the Hollywood Times. "Whatever it takes."

With the win, the Shredders have a record of 62-37.
