Reyes, Screaming Eagles Clobber Eclipse
|
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles beat the Northville Eclipse, 10-0, at Old-Timers Park. Mercer Island left fielder Domingo Reyes earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 3-3 with a home run, a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 3. Pedro Arredondo got the win, improving to 2-0. He held the Eclipse to no earned runs on 2 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 3. Mercer Island has now won 3 straight, while the Eclipse have lost 3 in a row.
Mercer Island relied on the hitting of Tony Parra to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Screaming Eagles on top, 3-0. For the game, Parra had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
