Runs were at a premium in the Niagara Falls-Yucca Valley matchup.

The Niagara Falls Expos picked up a win at Waterfall Park, knocking off the Yucca Valley Yellows, 2-0. Starting pitcher Roy Duyan played a key role in the triumph. In 6 innings, Duyan surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Jun-suk Sin sewed up the save, his 6th.

José Sandoval had a big run-scoring single for the Expos in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Niagara Falls leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from George Crane and stroked the single to right. It was his 22nd hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Expos ahead, 2-0.

"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Duyan.

Niagara Falls is now 16-18. Yucca Valley is 21-13.
