Pilgrims Get Past Nuevo Mexico for 4-3 Win
|
The Nuevo Mexico Mariachis got a sterling performance from pitcher Jing-quo Ts'ai, but the Pilgrims still prevailed, 4-3. Ts'ai was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball. Jing-sheng Bian picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-2. Jing-quo Ts'ai was tagged with the loss. Bernard Hewer picked up the save, his 13th.
Had Josh Hall not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Hall hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Pilgrims.
"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Hall told the Providence News.
Providence has now won 3 in a row.
