|
Pontiac got a terrific game from left fielder Carlos Núñez. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Kingston, 6-4. Núñez was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times. Jonathan Vega got credit for the save for Kingston. It was his 3rd of the year. The last-place Godfathers have lost 5 straight games.
Sergio Rivera hit a 2-run triple off Dave Parkinson in the top of the seventh, which put the Mangos in front, 6-4. Rivera had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 5.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Rivera said.
