The Alameda Airmen eked out a 4-3 win versus the Pontiac Godfathers at Alameda Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Yoshifumi Oshima, who captured player of the game honors. Oshima went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 0, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-1. Alameda's record now stands at 17-9, placing them 4th in the Menard's A.
Alameda took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With no one out, third baseman Kevin Neal hit a 3-run home run that electrified the crowd.
In comments to the Alameda News, Neal admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
