Thunder Hawks Turn Back Northville, 4-3
|
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks picked up a win at Thunder Hawks Ballpark, knocking off the Northville Eclipse, 4-3. Starting pitcher António Morterero, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Ft. Polk South is 11-15 and Northville, with the loss, 10-16.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the seventh, with the game tied, Gabriel Obregón was at the plate when Ft. Polk South scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Thunder Hawks to go in front, 4-3.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Northville manager Jason Stewart.
