Rainbow Mermaids Need Extras to Top Cattlemen
|
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids and Ft. Worth Cattlemen put on quite a show at The Cattle Pen.
Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids starter Mario Quintero was in fine form against the Ft. Worth Cattlemen at The Cattle Pen, leading his team to a 5-3 win. The 'W' lifts Northern Virginia's record to 44-51.
Northern Virginia needed the clutch hitting of Eustacio Tafalla to notch the win. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Rainbow Mermaids on top, 5-3. For the game, Tafalla had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Ft. Worth manager Scott Thompson. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
