Chesapeake got an elite performance from starting pitcher Carlos Semprún in taking a 2-0 decision over the St. Petersburg Thunder. Vasquo Lousada earned the save, his 1st, for the Cangrejos Fantasmas. At 9-2, the Cangrejos Fantasmas have played well so far.

Chesapeake took a 2-0 lead on David Maddox's 2nd home run of the season. The solo home run came off St. Petersburg pitcher Roberto Punyed in the top of the seventh.

"It feels good to get this one," Maddox told the Chesapeake News.
