Mariachis Get Road Win, 3-1
|
Nuevo Mexico Mariachis starter Clément Moreno pitched a strong game against the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks at Thunder Hawks Ballpark, leading the Mariachis to a 3-1 win. The winning pitcher was Moreno, now 2-0. He tossed 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. Earning his 1st save of the year was Herman Stone.
The Mariachis got a gift in the top of the sixth inning, when they were leading 2-1. With two out and the bases loaded, Ryutaro Watanabe reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. It made the score 3-1, Nuevo Mexico.
"It was a good effort all around," said Moreno.
The win pushes Nuevo Mexico to a record of 4-5.
