The Syracuse Storm eked out a 3-2 win versus the Kingston Mangos at Mango Yard. Nobody did more than pitcher Jimmy Evans, who captured player of the game honors. In 8 innings, Evans surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Dave Miller recorded his 2nd save for Syracuse.

Late-game drama came in the top of the ninth inning. With no one out and a runner on 1st, the batter, Jung Chong, hit a single. It helped Syracuse seize the win.

Kingston manager Juan Sánchez said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.

The Storm are off to a tough start, getting just their 6th win in 15 games.
