Thunder 3B Gerardes goes 4-for-5 in Win
|
Thunder first baseman Patrício Gerardes put his stamp on his team's 10-6 win over the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks. Gerardes went 4 for 5 with 4 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for St. Petersburg in the contest. The win was credited to Antony Durney in relief. His record improves to 1-0. António Morterero took the loss. With the win, St. Petersburg is 2-1.
It could have been a different outcome for St. Petersburg, had it not been for Huang-di Shu, the 23-year old third baseman . Shu contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the fifth inning to put St. Petersburg up, 5-2.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Gerardes said after the game.
