The Syracuse Storm scored a 3-2 win versus the Kingston Mangos at Mango Yard. Syracuse pitcher Jeffrey Eckert nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Jorge Leyva was credited with the save for Syracuse, his 3rd of the season. The Storm are off to a tough start, getting just their 5th win in 13 games.

Jacob James drove in one run for Syracuse. The 23-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the fifth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Vicente Castro. It was his 4th RBI of the season.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," James told a Syracuse Citizen reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
