Godfathers Continue Skid Thanks to Steur, Mangos
|
The Kingston Mangos topped the Pontiac Godfathers by the score of 8-4, with the largest share of the credit going to designated hitter Vaclav Steur. Steur went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Mangos. The Mangos, now 3-8, have not found much traction so far in 2043.
Had Augusto Castro not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Castro hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Mangos.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Kingston skipper Juan Sánchez.
