Blimps Fall to Turbeaus, 7-2
|
The Akron Blimps got a superb performance from designated hitter Ju-ho Ko. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Gulf Coast. The Turbeaus won the game, 7-2. In spite of the loss, Ko was named the player of the game. He was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Marcos del Pozo got the win, improving to 6-5. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 3. At 44-56, the Turbeaus find themselves in 9th place in the Silver AA.
The Turbeaus grabbed the lead in the top of the first. With two out, Royce Rolls hit a 2-run home run off Henry Terry, putting Gulf Coast in front, 3-0. For Rolls, it was his 8th home run of the season.
"I felt good up there," said Rolls. "I saw the ball well."
