Atoms Get Close Win Over Nationals
|
The Bethesda Atoms downed the Ottawa Nationals, 7-4, at Atoms Field. Steve Hodge led the way, going 2-for-3 for Bethesda. The 6th-place Atoms raised their record to 45-47.
Adrian Beard was the walk-off hero for Bethesda. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Atoms pinch hitter hit a dramatic 3-run home run to send the teams home.
"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Hodge said.
