The Tacoma Fur Traders went home winners at Ballpark of Tacoma, thanks in large part to starter Pedro Montáñez. Montáñez silenced the Akron Blimps, enabling Tacoma to grab the 3-0 win. Montáñez picked up the win for Tacoma, going 8 innings. He gave up no runs on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 6-5. Luke Fitzgerald picked up the save for Tacoma, his 23rd of the year.

In the bottom of the third, Michael Hutchinson hit a solo home run for Tacoma. The 2nd home run of the season for the Tacoma designated hitter put the Fur Traders on top, 1-0.

"Pedro is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Tacoma manager Elliott Taylor.

Tacoma currently is in 7th place in the Silver AA at 45-47.
