Squirrel Hill Pierogis starter Gustaf Steur turned in a top-notch performance against the Akron Blimps at Goodyear Hanger Dome. The result was a win for the Pierogis, 6-1. Steur got the win, improving to 1-3. He allowed 3 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. Steur allowed no earned runs. The win puts the Pierogis at 39-50, while the Blimps drop to 49-40.

Squirrel Hill relied on the hitting of Ryan McCarty to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Pierogis on top, 1-0. For the game, McCarty had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
