Fans who came to Goodyear Hanger Dome watched the Squirrel Hill Pierogis and the Akron Blimps fight to the finish.

Getting an impressive start from Todd Hunter, Squirrel Hill beat Akron by the score of 3-2. Mike Davidson converted his 4th save in 5 tries.

Squirrel Hill used the timely hitting of Rashid Jeltkov to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Pierogis on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Hunter.

Their 38-50 record puts the Pierogis 9th in the Silver AA.
