Blimps Win in Glorious Fashion

The Akron Blimps topped the Ottawa Nationals, 7-6, in USSL Double A action at Goodyear Hanger Dome. The player of the game was Akron pitcher and Slaton, Texas native Lance Mascola. The win was Horatio Hornblower's in relief. His record improves to 6-0. Tony Rodríguez took the loss for Ottawa. Akron is 48-37 and Ottawa, with the loss, 47-38.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Akron trailing 6-4, Takahashi Yano hit a fastball from Tony Rodríguez for a 3-run home run, giving the Blimps the walk-off win.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Mascola said.
