Turbeaus Slip Past Virginia Beach, 6-5

The Gulf Coast Turbeaus did just enough to secure a 6-5 victory over the Virginia Beach Whales at Mobile Home Park. Nobody did more than third baseman Rickard Busald, who captured player of the game honors. Luis Valdés earned the save for Gulf Coast, his 21st of the year. Gulf Coast occupies last place in the Silver AA at 32-50.
Gulf Coast took a 6-5 lead on Pablo Morterero's 9th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Morterero hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Virginia Beach pitcher Domingo Jones shaking his head.
"I like winning," Busald told the Gulf Coast Observer. "I may joke around, but when it comes down to it, winning is the most important thing."
