The Casper Ghosts faced a tough opponent in Crescent City pitcher Bhu Damocles, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Field of the Krewe by a final score of 3-2. Damocles went 5 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Ernest Wheeler finished to wrap up his 15th save. The Ghosts improve their record to 38-39 with the win over Crescent City.
Casper used the clutch hitting of Bill Wells to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Ghosts ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Wells.
