The Akron Blimps topped the Virginia Beach Whales by the score of 6-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to third baseman Zacarías Salazar. Salazar was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Blimps on the day. Today's win puts Akron at 41-34, while Virginia Beach falls to 46-29.
Salazar put Akron up, 6-3, when he hit a 2-run home run off Mark Taylor in the bottom of the second. His 3rd home run of the season helped the Blimps capture the win.
"Enjoyed this one," Salazar told the Akron News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
